A senior sales and marketing executive with extensive expertise in e-commerce, revenue management and technology across the airline, hotel and online intermediary industries, Tom Botts currently serves as Chief Commercial Officer at Uplift – a Thayer Ventures II, LP, portfolio company. Uplift is making travel more accessible, affordable and rewarding by enabling travel providers to offer flexible payments to their customers. Uplift Pay Monthly has been adopted by many top travel brands and can be found on the vacation package sites of United Airlines, JetBlue airways, and Southwest Airlines among others.

Prior to joining Uplift, Tom was the Senior Vice President and CMO of Miraval Group, where he drove global expansion of the Miraval Group’s luxury resort, spa and wellness portfolio by leading digital and traditional marketing, public relations, customer relationship management, advertising, sales, revenue management and distribution initiatives. Miraval was acquired by Hyatt Hotels in January 2017.

He also served as Denihan’s Executive Vice President, Chief Customer Officer from 2012 – 2015, where he was responsible for developing and executing all strategies to drives customer acquisition, retention and profitability. He led the brand management, marketing, sales, revenue management and business intelligence functions for the company across all of its brands and 14-hotel portfolio.

Botts was a co-founder and managing partner of New York City-based Hudson Crossing, LLC, a leading business and technology advisory firm serving the travel, financial services and related industries. He also served as Vice President – Global Travel Industry Sales and Strategy for Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. where he led a sales and marketing team responsible for $2 billion in revenue generation across multiple channels. While at Starwood, he also led the negotiation and implementation of the company’s third-party merchant model distribution strategies, now considered an industry best practice.

As Director, Airline Relations for, now a subsidiary of Expedia, Inc., Botts led a cross-functional product team encompassing technology, business and marketing during a time when the company’s annual revenues surpassed $100 million.

Botts began his career with Delta Air Lines and held roles of increasing responsibility in customer service, technology, revenue management and e-commerce. During the early part of his career with Delta, he pioneered the use of bar-coded boarding passes which have since been embraced by much of the industry.

Botts sits on the advisory boards of several companies, including Hudson Crossing, Duetto Research and GuestDriven. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Logistics and Marketing from the University of Missouri.
